Did you change your spring break plans because of the virus? From what to what?
I was going to be going to a Trappist monastery in Massachusetts, but instead I stayed home, prepared to make the transition to remote teaching, and helped write legislation for AAPC.
How did you feel when you were informed the remainder of the semester would be held online?
Not surprised.
What has been your experience with moving classes online? What's good? What's not so good?
It is a totally different teaching format, with which I had had no previous experience. It is difficult to teach classes without getting as much instantaneous feedback from students.
How has the virus (and the precautions taken to prevent it spreading) impacted your daily life?
In the same ways as everybody else.
How worried are you about getting the virus?
Moderately.
Do you know anyone who has gotten COVID-19?
Probably.
Are you staying in? What are you doing to pass the time?
I work all day and occasionally take walks around the neighborhood.
Are you going out? Where do you go and what is it like?
I come to campus three days a week to teach my class (using a webcam and the blackboard). I also go to church to broadcast livestream Masses through Facebook.
What is giving you hope and/or strength right now?
The same as always: Jesus Christ.
Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about what you're feeling or experiencing right now?
Not really.
