Did you change your spring break plans because of the virus? From what to what?
From going to florida to be with my family to staying alone in our house in New York.
How did you feel when you were informed the remainder of the semester would be held online?
I was very excited because I think new experiences are fun.
Where are you living for the rest of the semester? How did you feel about leaving campus? Or what's it like remaining on campus?
I'm living alone in a large house in NY. On campus, I used to live in Lazrus. The Lazrus building was turned into a quaretine dorm a week before the college closed. So, I had to evacuate Lazrus and move to my new dorm in Johnson. A week later, over spring break, the college was closed. I was one of the few people on campus over spring break because I was filming my youtube show the "College Conspiracies." Obviously, I stopped filming my show and packed up my new Johnson room. Then I drove to my house in NY in my car.
What has been your experience with moving classes online? What's good? What's not so good?
I'm a very extroverted person which means I get energy from being around other people and external stimulation. Being isolated and alone in a large house in a quiet town in upstate NY quickly drained me of all my inspiration and energy. I had so many projects and ideas to work on but after weeks of solitude I could not conjure the energy to even get up from the couch. I was laying down for nearly 24 hour a day. But then, I turned my life around by starting my quarentine vlogs.
How has the virus (and the precautions taken to prevent it spreading) impacted your daily life?
When I went to the grocery story I just brought some handsantizer and stayed away from everyone. It wasn't a big deal. Also, I did go to Home Depot twice for 5 minutes each time to quickly grab one item. On those trips I used my handsanitizer a lot and stayed away from everyone.
How worried are you about getting the virus?
I'm not worried at all. I'm in complete isolation. I did hear thought that they aren't sure if the virus causes irreversible lung damage which can decrease lung capacity by 30%. So, that's the main reason I wouldn't want to catch Covoid-19. I don't want to be physically weaker for the rest of my life.
Do you know anyone who has gotten COVID-19?
Not personally.
Are you staying in? What are you doing to pass the time?
I stay in almost 24/7. And I'm working on my many many projects. For example, I'm building a giant boat in the basement and I'm making a beautiful song using the grand piano and my electric piano.
Are you going out? Where do you go and what is it like?
I go for long inspirations drives. On one of my night drives I parked in an empty parking lot. A police officer came over and asked for my I.D. He was not wearing a mask or gloves.
What is giving you hope and/or strength right now?
Hummus
Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about what you're feeling or experiencing right now?
Watch my quaretine vlogs! They show exactly who I am and how I am responding to this situation. They are are very accurate depiction of my life. Every second of it. They will be a valuable resource for future historians.
